PALAIS MAETERLINCK HOTEL

Palais Maeterlinck Hotel

Situated on the Cap de Nice between Nice and Villefranche, the four-star Hôtel Palais Maeterlinck was originally the home of the famous Belgian poet Maurice Maeterlinck. Completely renovated and transformed into a luxury hotel, the Palais Maeterlinck boasts nine acres of beautiful gardens and lawns, all facing the Mediterranean. Ideal for a quiet romantic break, the Hôtel Palais Maeterlinck features 40 rooms and a mixture of suites, all of which boast a private terrace overlooking the sea. A beach is just a short walk from the hotel, or if you prefer you can take the funicular down to the private beachfront.
Within the hotel’s grounds there is a wonderful heated freshwater swimming pool, which is complemented with an open-air jacuzzi during the summer months. The hotel prides itself on its attention to detail and high level of personal service to ensure that your stay is a truly memorable occasion.

Fabulous sea views can be admired from the gastronomic restaurant Le Melisande. The very finest cuisine and Mediterranean specialities are carefully prepared and brought together with originality and good taste - and are served in elegant surroundings either in the dining room or outside on the terrace. Between June and September, the Summer House and American Bar serve light dishes and healthy snacks. Wedding receptions and cocktail parties for up to 200 guests are catered for at Club Nautique.

39 deluxe rooms, junior suites and suites with private terraces, sea view and all modern conveniences.

The majority of the Cote d’Azur hasn’t changed in centuries. On the doorstep of the Hôtel Palais Maeterlinck are several traditional villages, which are certainly worth exploring. The ancient village of Gourdon sits on the edge of a rocky spur above the Loup river, and boasts a 17th Century fortress and a range of fascinating boutiques.
If you are after a more lively resort then head for St Tropez, originally a fishing village and now home to many celebrities who are drawn to its fabulous beaches and fine restaurants.
During the summer the whole region comes to life. Enjoy some celebrity spotting at the Cannes Film Festival in May, or listen to the latest sounds at the Festival International de Jazz in Juans-les-Pins, which takes place during the last two weeks of July and always attracts the big stars.
